Wetakeiya House – Luxury Villa in Sri Lanka

Wetakeiya House is three bedrooms villa which is located in the fishing town of Dikwella approx 165km from Colombo. The Villa facing elevated position with views out to sea. All bedrooms have air con. The house is staffed by a wonderful couple who reside in separate accommodation who will cook, clean and generally look after you.

The house is beautifully constructed and has polished cement flooring throughout allowing it to remain cool and encourage barefoot living. Two of the bedrooms face a pond at the entrance to the house whilst the master suite with king size four poster has sea views. The sitting room has deep sofas and there is a separate TV room. A large covered veranda looks south over the terraced garden and has a dining table as well as larger day beds and a hammock fixed between two columns.

The small pool is on a lower terrace and the garden leads down to a small southwest-facing pavilion where the owner practices yoga and it is just as good for a less energetic siesta or sundowners. The rocky shore not suitable for swimming and there is a small crescent shape bay shown in the photos approx 5 mins stroll down a track.

Living Areas at Villa Wetakeiya

It seems an understatement to describe the property as a villa when in fact, Ani Villas Sri Lanka is more akin to a private luxury resort. The property is made up of two twin estates, Villa Monara and Villa Divia, with rooms spread out into individual pavilions tucked into the lush tropical gardens throughout. Eat the endless offerings of glorious world-class food, indulge in the signature cocktails on offer and go ahead and explore this amazing villa.

The sprawling property allows guests to choose between gorgeously designed indoor living areas and lush outdoor lounge spaces. For a formal indoor setting, opt for one of the spacious living rooms crowned with sky-high vaulted ceilings, furnished with elegant sofas and plush armchairs. For a more tropical setting, head to one of the open-plan living salas, or the sunken lounge next to the pool.

Both Villa Monara and Villa Divia offer bespoke dining salas perched outside by their respective pools. The main villa area also has an intimate mezzanine dining space above the bar. The food at Ani Villas Sri Lanka is absolutely flawless, with each dish and 3-course meal a feast for the senses you won’t soon forget. The villa also includes a wine cellar.

Now that you have mastered outdoor shuffleboard, try your hand at the indoor version which is just as much fun! Or you can relax and play a few games on the large-size pool table, or maybe jump on the couches and munch on some popcorn or roasted nuts in the adjacent massive widescreen TV watching room.

Each of the two villas features a massive pool, which opens out to mesmerising ocean vistas and even includes a bespoke pool bar! Plus, an awesomely-designed sunken pool lounge. While parents are lounging poolside they can keep an eye on the little ones splashing around in the kids’ pool which features a 30-metre waterslide! No need to line up – there is yet another mammoth 37-metre waterslide in the opposite villa pool as well. The grounds also include a private tennis court. Before taking the cute-as-a-button rustic gate down to the endless deserted beachfront, you should have a game of outdoor shuffleboard.
