Blue Heights Villa is a modern and minimalist property, comprising of two buildings; the mainsingle-storyhouse consists of one ensuite bedroom, an indoor sitting room, a dining table on an open sided veranda that runs the length of the property, and the kitchens. The otherbuilding houses three further ensuite bedrooms (two on the ground floor and the master bedroom, with a private terrace, on the 1st floor). The buildings, along the same east-west line, perch on a manicuredelevated gardenlined with coconut palms. The pool is on a slightly lower level to the house. There is a short stroll from the private garden gate directly to Hiriketiya beach that is popular with surfers and beach lovers alike!Blue Heights comes with an excellent chef and house staff, plus a Dalmatian house pet. Blue Heights Villa was designed by a leading Sri Lankan architect (Amila De Mel) who for many years worked with the late, and great, Geoffrey Bawa. Constructed in 2008, the house has certain characteristics of vernacular architecture.

The bedrooms are unfussy in design and all have the air conditioner and overhead fans come with good hanging space. The bathrooms, each unique, are carefully considered, with walk-in showers and keypad safes. The owner clearly has a keen eye for a beautiful door, which are consistent throughout the property and indeed the whole interior of the villa is styled with an eclectic mix of carefully selected antique furniture. The stunning horseshoe bay is a very respectable 2-minute walk! On your way out please don’t forget to shut the magnificent door, to secure the sanctuary of BH, but also to keep Timmy the Dalmatian in. He’s a super friendly dog and an excellent addition to this property – especially popular with children!

The staff at Blue Heights are very professional and considered. The chef, has a great reputation amongst guests, so much so, that they rarely leave the villa to eat anywhere else! This villa is afantastic location for surfers as it fronts one of the best breaks along this stretch of the coast and indeed the bay is an emerging destination with one or two beach bars offering gentle vibes and a restaurant or two. There are other surf breaks of varying difficulty nearby and for families Blue Heights Villa offers a no frills fun beach holiday.
